Biography

Danny Treacy, by Chris Terry.

 

 

Danny Treacy is a process led artist based in London, he works primarily with photography, his immersive practice also incorporates elements of sculpture, performance, collecting and anthropology. He has exhibited in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Finland and the U.S. The series has also been featured and discussed in many magazines and publications, including ‘Autofocus: The Self-Portrait in Contemporary Photography’, Thames & Hudson, London, 2010 and ‘Vitamin Ph: New Perspectives in Photography’, Phaidon Press, London 2006.

He received an MA in Fine Art Photography from the Royal College of Art, London, in 2002, and completed an artist-in-residency at The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, in 2008, later that year he had his first solo exhibition at The Photographer’s Gallery, London.

As an Associate Lecturer (AL) I have experience that includes the writing and delivery of contextual workshops, master classes and short courses. Marking unit work and degree shows and portfolio reviews. While in my role as a Visiting Lecturer (VL) I visit a variety of Higher education courses where my duties include the presentation of practice, running contextual workshops and holding tutorials.
